Cadenza brings together four young and emerging artists into a unique ensemble.
The contrast between bow and pluck is used to its fullest effect, sweeping from wild strength to intimate subtlety
in music from throughout the baroque.
In a short time they have gained a reputation for their audience contact and impact; they simply love playing together, constantly testing their limits, and sharing their experience with the public.
The combined experience of Cadenza's members already features appearances with Concerto Köln, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Freiburger Barockorchester, La Cetra Basel, New London Consort and Bach Collegium München, and includes working with musical personalities such as Cecilia Bartoli, Jordi Savall, Andreas Scholl, Magdalena Kožená and Anton Steck.
After Cadenza's debut success in the 5th International Heinrich Schmelzer Competition in Melk and the Alte Musik-Treff in Berlin, they have appeared in various Festivals, including the Summer Festivities of Early Music in Prague with Soprano Monika Mauch, at the Berlin Musikinstrumentenmuseum, the Brunnenthaler Konzertsommer, and twice running for the Bach-Archiv Leipzig in their Sommersaalkonzerte and Bachfest programs. 2008 sees them appearing at the Ekhoff-Festival in Gotha, and at the Early Music Festival in Český Krumlov.
